Ironman Canada Goals

Here are my goals for Ironman Canada. I'm putting them on the blog so that everyday I'll be reminded of what I'm working toward.

Swim-1:00:00 T1-:4:00 Bike-5:30:00 T2-:4:00 Run-3:30:00

Total - 10:08:00

How to achieve world class fitness!!

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Long Bike/Short Run

Sorry for not posting the last few days but I have been flying cross country and working a lot. I did have time to ride this morning and do a run after lunch before work. I started out from my hotel in Roswell, NM and head northwest on route 246. No I'm not hear doing anything with the aliens! Now Roswell is at 3600 feet and I spent 2:27:00 going pretty much up hill until I turned around at 5000 feet. The turn around point was at 35 miles so it was a gradual climb but a climb just the same. I then turned around and spent 2:00:00 getting back to Roswell with a nice headwind. I love headwinds!! Total distance was 70 miles in 4:32:00. Not really that fast but it was up hill and I'm riding my old bike.

I then went to a state park here and ran with some guys from work. It's hot here, just like everywhere else, but I had my water belt and managed a 51:00 run. I don't know the distance because my GPS died on the bike ride. Not a bad day at all here in the southwest.

Have a good day!
