Ironman Canada Goals

Here are my goals for Ironman Canada. I'm putting them on the blog so that everyday I'll be reminded of what I'm working toward.

Swim-1:00:00 T1-:4:00 Bike-5:30:00 T2-:4:00 Run-3:30:00

Total - 10:08:00

How to achieve world class fitness!!

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Back to the routine

Ok it's late and I'm tired but I'm finally back in my own bed. I'll keep it short and sweet tonight so I can get a good nights sleep.

I finally made it back to VA BCH around 2pm today. My totally awesome girlfriend Lisa was there to pick me up. Once I got settled I didn't waste anytime getting on the bike. Today was a schedule brick day so off I went. I did a 50:30 ride here in the local area and covered 16.5 miles for an average of 19.7 mph. I then did a quick change into running gear and headed out for 30 minutes covering 4 miles for an average of 7:30 per mile. It really felt good to be home riding and running.

I only have 39 days until the race so I'll be sticking to the plan very closely from now on. I've also given up alcohol until I cross the finish line in Louisville. Starting 1 Aug I'll also be giving up all junk food.

It's good to be back! Have a great week!
