Ironman Canada Goals

Here are my goals for Ironman Canada. I'm putting them on the blog so that everyday I'll be reminded of what I'm working toward.

How to achieve world class fitness!!

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Recover is complete

Well tomorrow is Monday and I'm now 2 weeks post Ironman. It's officially time to jump back in to the world of training. I'll be doing some maintenance workouts for the next few months to maintain my fitness level. I'm planning to run a few 5K's, 10K's and half marathons this fall and winter. Plus I'll be riding the bike all winter solo and on group rides with guys much faster than me. Can you say "hang on!!"

I'm going to try and maintain my some of my fitness and improve my swim and bike at the same time. Starting in February I'll begin to build back up to Ironman Canada. My goal is to finish in the top of my age group. I'm not going to be so concerned about times before hand. I'm just going to train hard and race harder! I will leave my predicted event finish times on here just to keep me honest. It's hard to back out once you've told the whole world you're plan.

Most to follow.....

Have a good dad!!
